Should Our BMW M2 Longtermer Be A Manual, Or An Automatic?
This September, a BMW M2 will be joining TeamCT's long-term test fleet. But what kind of gearbox should it have? We want you to help us decide!
Recently, we enjoyed a very entertaining week with a BMW M2, which saw us bomb down the autobahn to the Nurburgring N24 and go for a lap of the Nordschleife. Since we’re greedy, we still wanted more time with the M2, and fortunately, we’ve been granted our wish: this September a BMW M2 will be joining Car Throttle’s long-term test fleet, alongside ‘our’ Honda Civic Type R and another awesome car which is set to arrive in the coming weeks.
Whatever happens the M2 will be a Long Beach Blue example, but we have been given a choice of transmissions: the six-speed manual, or the seven-speed dual-clutch. To help us make our decision, we want to know what kind of M2 you’d rather see. Get voting!

manual
Double clutch and auto are very different things.
I heard the BMW manuals aren’t as good so go with the DCT
Manuals are a thing of the past - i doubt that in my life i will ever buy a new car with a manual box.
Defo manual. Auto is probably a heavier transmission than the manual. Who wants an m car that’s over weight?
Manual
Automatic. Why? Because you’re basically telling tradition to go f*ck itself. Don’t know why, but I feel this way for reasons unknown
Automanuel
Manual straight six? Anyday
Automatic. The M2’s competitors (S3, the Mercedes whatever AMG all use dual cluth gearboxers.
