In Canada, you can fail your driving test if you use the button, as the instructors will specifically listen for the clicking of the handbrake. It sucks cause I’m part of the “Use the button group”.
The only people that I ever heard talking about holding the button in while pulling the hand brake are the car throttle redaction. Challenge: find any car of any age were the ratcheting mechanism is so worn out that you can’t use it anymore.
The real reason you shouldn’t do it is because it’s really annoying.
‘’… A thing to think about, when thinking about wear….’’ :D
I started to use the button simply because of the sound. Me feel special lol
The fact that it doesn’t cause a lot of wear doesn’t mean it’s a bad idea to press it anyway though
Well Alex best said it himself.
Perfect. Finally the truth has been spoken! Thanks.
So in other words, if you’re making a hand motion that would wear it out…. you’ve probably grabbed the wrong stick :P
