The Silverado-Based Hennessey Goliath 6x6 Looks Terrifying And Awesome
While Hennessey may have announced its Chevrolet Silverado-based Goliath 6x6 nearly a year ago, all we saw of it at the time was a bunch of renders. Now, though, the first production version is complete. It’s quite intimidating, isn’t it?
The huge increase in size is a big part of that, but it also helps that Hennessey has given the Goliath an eight-inch lift kit. This gives the beefy BF Goodrich 37-inch all-terrain tyres more room to breathe, with Fox dampers absorbing any bumps that might come your way.
To make up for the inevitably huge increase in weight, the Goliath has been given a little more power. The standard Silverado’s 6.2-litre V8 has been given a cold air intake and a stainless steel exhaust system (plus an ECU fettle, we should think), bringing the total output from 420 to 450bhp.
When the car was first confirmed Hennessey had talked of an ‘HPE700’ 2.9-litre supercharger upgrade to bring the power to 705bhp. There’s no mention of this in the latest release, but when contacted by CT, John Hennessey mentioned that more powerful upgrades are indeed coming a little later down the line.
Goliaths also come with uprated brakes, new 20-inch wheels, an upgraded roll bar and LED lights. The front and rear bumpers are Hennessey designs, and they’re complemented by big Goliath 6x6 and Hennessey decals. Fancy.
All of this comes to $375,000, including the donor Silverado. Certainly not small change, but Hennessey shouldn’t have much trouble shifting the entire run of 24. The first one, Hennessey says, is owned by a chap called Bob Berrard, who’s “the largest potato farm in the state of Wisconsin,” apparently. So, he’ll definitely have enough land to enjoy his new toy…

375K!
is it just me or front and rear overhang feels way too short….
That’s a good thing. Short overhangs= better approach and departure angles, so the body is less likely to scrape the ground when off-roading.
For a bloke to actually own this motor, I would make it a prerequisite that ya must have at least (5) competitive cage fights at the Pro Level before ya can buy one. That would eliminate 99% of the yobbos that think a lift kit and wheels that stick out past the fenders makes ya a “Tough Guy”. It also eliminates false bravado and silly “machismo”; and the ever-cockneyed premise that ya have a 10” penis or 10 kilos of cocaine in your trousers.
