Someone Put A Brand New Audi R8 In A Ditch While Leaving A Car Meet

This R8 V10 Plus - which is so new it's not even wearing proper number plates - ended up in a ditch seconds after leaving a cars and coffee event in Caserta, Italy

While this embarrassing crash serves as a welcome piece of evidence that shows it’s not just Mustangs that wreck outside cars and coffee-style events, there is a more pressing matter here: why is this R8 wearing generic model name numberplates, with what looks like a temporary trade plate hanging off the spoiler?

A few other outlets have speculated that the owner had only just taken delivery of this R8 at the time of the crash, but with those temporary plates you can’t help but wonder if a dealership employee with a heavy right foot had taken the keys for the weekend.

What do you think?

The plate is the equivalent of a U.K. Trade plate, dealers and garages use them to drive cars under their insurance
