Someone's Built A Monstrous 8.5-litre V12 From Two LS1 V8s
This huge V12 was created by grafting together two cut down General Motors LS1 V8s and adding a custom crankshaft
The result of this mad project? 707bhp at 6300rpm, and 627lb ft of torque at 5700. It’ll be heading to a customer in the USA, who’s apparently planning on squeezing it into the engine bay of a Chevrolet Camaro.
All this has us in mind of an amazing project we spotted a couple of years ago, which saw one heroic hot rod builder stick together two 1JZ straight-sixes to make a one-off V12.

diesel v12 next?
why not v16 i mean u have 8 and 8 why cut it
So why not get a Viper 8.4 and tune it to 700 hp?
I can applaud engineering and commitment to something like this. However, you can achieve the same power goals with a few modifications and forced induction, and probably be more reliable. Certainly a lot cheaper. I guess some people just want to say they have a V12.
Honestly, not overly impressed with the power figures. V8s come out of the factory with that much nowadays. From a custom V12, I’d have expected more.
thats fun but it’s totally unbalanced and why not take an old Mercedes or a bmw v12 and boost it?they are going to make a ton of power
EmilBlum Wow
They should call it an LS1.75 lol
And no random cat was spotted
I don’t get why they had to use V8’s and cut them down. Why not start off with two V6’s to begin with?
