The Special Edition Peugeot RCZ R Bimota Squeezes 300bhp Out Of A 1.6
One of the most impressive things about the Peugeot RCZ R is just how much power it kicks out, despite running a dinky 1.6-litre turbo engine. 267bhp is a mighty impressive figure for such a small engine, but this special edition RCZ - produced in conjunction with Italian motorbike manufacturer Bimota for Verona’s Motor Bike Expo - is even more pokey. It churns out 300bhp. Crikey.
The extra grunt comes courtesy of a new turbocharger blow-off valve, a new exhaust system and a remapped ECU. If you’re a fan of Bimota’s bikes you’ll notice the exterior has been splashed with the company’s signature colour scheme, while the interior has been smothered in alcantara and received a seven-inch TomTom infotainment system.
The rear seats have been removed, with a leather-clad helmet box in their place. The front brakes are now beefier, while the suspension has been dropped by 10mm. Oh, and you get a couple of GoPro cameras thrown in.
There’s no word on whether or not this thing will make its way to the UK, or if it’s anything more than a one-off show piece. What do you think of it?
