Spins, Sparks, Drifts and Crashes In Brazilian GP Friday Practice

A newly resurfaced track caused some spectacular moments during Friday's two practice sessions in Brazil

There were plenty of thrills and spills during Friday’s two Brazilian Grand Prix practice sessions. A newly re-surfaced Interlagos circuit caused some spectacular action.

2015 Toro Rosso driver Max Verstappen replaced Jean-Eric Vergne in the morning session and completed this brilliant drift at turn 11. Meanwhile Kimi Raikkonen suffered several spins, and even re-visited his favourite escape road.

Kevin Magnussen tested titanium skid blocks in practice one, creating some stunning sparks. Meanwhile Force India reserve driver Daniel Juncadella replaced Sergio Perez and wrecked his car at turn eight.

Fernando Alonso’s Ferrari suffered a dramatic engine failure in second practice, with smoke and flames billowing from the back of his Ferrari. With the marshals slow to react, he even had to put out the fire himself.
