A Steering Wheel Coming Off Caused This Hard Nascar Hit
Jimmie Johnson was driving in Nascar Sprint Cup qualifying in Phoenix when he went straight on and crashed, later revealing it was caused by his steering wheel coming off!
Johnson said after the crash on Twitter that the steering wheel came off while he was driving and owned up to the issue.

how exactly were they “put on their knees”? They were in the race Sunday. The Crew guys were running to get the back-up car off the trailer. Looks like he started 5th. There’s about 30 other teams that wish they were “put on their knees” like that.

Because it was during qualifying. Not the race. So they stop the entire track, so that lap times aren’t affected, and the timer stops for the session
