This Straight-Piped BMW F80 M3 Sounds Evil As It Lights Up The Rears In A Tunnel

The harsh-sounding F80 isn't the most melodic M3, so it's no surprise that when you stick a set of straight pipes on, the results are utterly demonic

That fail in the beginning tho… but he totally made up for it by producing smoke. A lot of smoke.

Honestly? I don’t get why so many people get excited about straightpiping. In 99,9% of the time it sounds horrible to me. I love a good exhauste note but this is not better than ricer fartcans.

Same people that think making your car a “tron-car” is cool.

Generally speaking cars with decent sounding, less-restricted exhausts tend to sound pretty good straight-piped, albeit very loud. Unfortunately the S55 motor found in the F8x M3/M4 sounds like a raspy fart box to begin with so it sounds even worse with straight pipes. This is a prime example of a car that needs an aftermarket exhaust where some thinking and engineering has gone into it to reduce rasp and deepen the exhaust tone.

Yes lots of times it does. But if loo at cars like subarus or lamborghinis or even some v8s it can bring out extra meatiness sound. I hear where your coming from though.

That was quite a burnout considering it was on a public road

Yeah I’ve had that, some reason it won’t when your phone’s on vibrate even though YouTube will. Flick it on to loud and it should play fine.

When ricers have money, perhaps? Didn’t seem to have a clue what he was doing. I dunno, I feel like this is just a trend, I see those wheels on a lot of BMWs and they’re really just not to my taste, especially when combined with unnecessary low. The exhaust was loud, but really not nice. And don’t get me started on Tron lines.

I’d say the E36 M3 and E46 M3 comes before the E9x M3.

Because beautiful N/A Inline 6 sounds is something BMW have had for a long time.
