Striking Lamborghini Veneno Outed - Extreme Or What?
This is not a poor imitation of a Lamborghini, built by a Romanian in his shed. Neither is this a one-off, built for a Sheikh by a venerable, Italian styling house.
No, this is allegedly the “most fearsome”, “most powerful” Lambo’ ever to officially wear the raging bull. And nobody had any idea it existed.
Except for the three (and only three - that’s all they’re building) lucky soles who have bought them, at £3.1m a pop no less. And the Sunday Times, in which the story was first published on Sunday morning.
According to the article, the Veneno (meaning 'venom') produces 740bhp from its 6.5-litre V12, which will give the hypercar a top speed of 220mph. Built to celebrate Lambo’s 50th anniversary, it’s based on the Aventador’s carbonfibre monocoque - and though it’s road legal, the body is said to “enhance the car’s aerodynamics for track use”.
Rumoured to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show this week, we literally can’t wait to see it in the flesh.
Ferrari and McLaren might just be worried now...
Update: here are some Geneva show images and official images of the Lamborghini Veneno:
