Stunning Jaguar Project 7 Prototype Wows Goodwood
Feast your eyes on this beauty. This is the one-off prototype Jaguar which is running up the hill at the Goodwood Festival of Speed today. It's simply and perfectly named the Jaguar F-Type Project 7 prototype.
Obviously it uses the F-Type as a base with a 542bhp supercharged V8 at the front, so it launches to 62mph in a paltry 4.1 seconds. But check out the details that make this car so incredibly special.
Behind the driver’s head is a D-Type-inspired aerodynamic cowl running down towards the carbon fibre spoiler. The lines are just superb, even if the design could never make it to production for safety reasons. Bah.
White tyre detailing always rocks, and the Jaguar logos and lines circling the Project 7’s bespoke rubber are sexy as hell. The wheels’ centre caps are red and silver, accenting the overall design nicely.
In fact, there’s just not a bad angle on the thing. A carbon fibre splitter is framed by four huge black exhaust tips, the Jaguar branding is subtle but strong, and the interior is completely bespoke.
Four-point harnesses aren’t exactly popular with the female of the species (believe me, I’ve been there) but let’s overlook that for a minute. The Project 7’s interior is a stunning mix of style and balanced function and the seats look like they’d hug you tighter than a straight jacket. Not that anyone's been given the chance to step inside - anyone even laying a finger on the precious Project 7 at Goodwood is getting threatened with being bounced off the grounds...
Chief Engineer for ‘Vehicle Integrity’ at Jag, Mike Cross, will be the man thrashing the stunning Jag up the famous Goodwood hill. I don’t think he’d trust the job of manhandling a pretty priceless company asset in the hands of anyone else.
