Forget rallying - too expensive. F1? Too safe. How about banger racing? That's cool, but it's not one to attract the ladies...

No, Finland's new Crosskart series is where it's really at. The idea is simple: take a bunch of 750cc Suzuki-engined Crosskarts - which produce 150bhp and weigh just 312kg - take them to rally-spec race tracks and hoon the absolute life out of them.

Described by the Finnish Crosscart Challenge (FCC) as 'intense, action-packed, versatile and, above all, comfortable,' Finland's latest motorsport is easy to get involved with and attracts racing legends like rally star Mikko Hirvonen, who recently broke the FCC's indoor speed record.
