We’ve all spent hours on consoles racing our hot lap ghosts, but for one teenager this became a particularly poignant past time after his father passed away.

Commenting on a video about spirituality in video games, YouTube user 00WARTHERAPY00 revealed how, at the age of four, his dad had bought him an Xbox. The pair always played together, but sadly, two years later, his dad died. He didn’t touch the console for 10 years, but when he returned to it and loaded up Rally Sports Challenge, he discovered his dad’s old hot lap ghost car.

With the ghost loaded up, he ‘played and played and played, until I was almost able to beat the ghost. Until one day I got ahead of it, I surpassed it, and stopped right in front of the finish line, just to ensure I wouldn’t delete it.’

While nothing could ever replace the loss of a loved one, it’s great to see this guy found a way to connect with his late father.
