The Terrain-Bashing Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk Is Here Early Thanks To A Leak

A more off-road oriented version of the Grand Cherokee has been leaked ahead of its New York Auto Show debut

We last saw the Trailhawk badge on a Grand Cherokee back in 2013 for a limited-run model, but it’s now back with a bang. It’s here early too, thanks to an image leak.

Like the previous Trailhawk, this is very much the Grand Cherokee for the more adventurous types. The suspension has received a decent lift, the tyres are chunkier, and there are some lovely red tow hooks for when things don’t go entirely according to plan. A few black accents make the exterior look suitably mean.

There are splashes of red in the interior too thanks to some contrasting stitching, although as with the outside, it’s all pretty much as-per the regular Grand Cherokee in there.

Details are still pretty limited, so we’ll have to wait for the full reveal to find out all the stats and exactly what’s lurking under the bonnet. The car will make its full public debut at the New York Auto Show later this month.

This is some good news. Jeep has to give it’s “Trailhawk” name justice.

Honestly, after driving a standard 2014 Cherokee Trail hawk in PA last summer, I wouldn’t dare take it, or the Grand, off-road - its less “offroad capability” and more “appearance package”.

Well, any car can off-road if you push it (I didn’t downvote your comment).

Came here just to make the same comment. They’re essentially charging more for a minor lift, slightly bigger tires, and some fancy stitching on the seats. Certainly not a terrain crushing vehicle.

You can’t off road when they are new you have to wait until someone puts a few hundred thousand miles on them. A used grand cherokee that you buy for a couple grand makes a real off road beast.

People off road when they r new u don’t need 2 or 300k miles this will do just fine will it do as good as a wrangler or a cherokee probably not but will be just fine

Still gonna be used by retired people for towing non-offroad capable caravans great distances on sealed roads.

Pedantic time!
Jeep is a brand that produces several vehicles. That is merely one of them.
