This empty shell is all that remains of a 2014 Tesla Model S after it burnt to the ground while being charged in Norway. The cause of the fire is currently unknown, but is being investigated.

The incident happened when the owner of the Model S plugged it in and left it for charging. On returning a short time later, the car was engulfed in flames. Firefighters had to use a special foam to combat the flames and to make the lithium batteries safe.

Luckily, nobody was injured.

Before anyone says that this proves electriccars are stupid/dangerous or whatever, accidnts like these were fairly common when cars driven by Otto engines was a new thing, It’s still in quite a prototypical state and I’m sure they’ll work it out. Accidents happen.

I’m as sad as anyone that internal combustion soon will be a thing of the past, but I’m trying my best not to disappoint myself by denying it to myself.

Bmw already created a hydrogen combustion engine. So I don’t think will loose the combustion engine.

Prototypical state? There have been EVs for over 100 years.

That sucks to be the owner. I’d be in confusion as to why my car went into flames.
