Tesla's 'D' Has Been Revealed, And It's A New Version Of The Model S

Here it is: the car Tesla CEO Elon Musk was referring to yesterday when he sent out that (apparently unintentionally) amusing Tweet about the D. Spotted by a member of the Tesla Motors Club while the machine was sat charging at an airfield, we can see the new car is a ‘P85D’ version of the Model S. The speculation is that the P85D is a four-wheel drive version of the regular Model S P85, which seems like a fair bet given that Tesla is developing a ‘Model X’ SUV which uses the same under-body gubbins as the S.

It’s due to be officially unveiled on 9 October, so we’ll have to wait until then to know for sure.
