There's A New Nurburgring Record...For The Fastest Lap With A Trailer
Bored of car manufacturers obsessing over Nurburgring lap records? Here’s something that might provide an antidote. Or maybe it’ll just irk you further. Either way, it’s a Nordschleife record with a difference.
A German firm called Moetefindt - which specialises in racing car transportation - sent a Porsche Panamera Turbo Sport Turismo around the Green Hell…while towing one of its trailers.
Called the ‘FTP235’, it’s - as you can see - rather large. The twin-axle trailer was also loaded with a Porsche Junior tractor for good measure. Despite the heavy load and having a top speed of only 110mph, the car and trailer combo managed to lap the ‘Ring in an actually quite respectable 12 minutes and six seconds.
So far as we can see though, no one’s claimed a feat like this before, so this is best considered a benchmark for others to beat. Not that we’d expect people to be lining up to smash such a weird record…

It’s just top gear
That’s cute, but
12 minutes…with a top speed of 180 kph and a trailer with a mini tractor in it…I have to see the full thing when this comes around!
Before the XR6 Turbo, there was this: https://www.shannons.com.au/club/enthusiasts/avolegend/garage/1990-ford-avo-turbo-ea-falcon-stage-5-the-only-one-built/.
This is the most glorious thing I’ve ever seen in my life
