These F1 Exhaust Manifold Speakers Are Too Beautiful For Words

Manufacturers of sound docks for phones and MP3 players seem intent these days on making their products as stylish and sophisticated as possible. They do a pretty decent job of that for the most part, but all of them pale into insignificance when compared to these bad boys. That's because these speaker docks are made from old F1 engine exhaust manifolds...

Modena-based company IXOOST offers these gorgeous creations with either eight, 10 or 12 speakers. Buyers can choose from a variety of different manifolds: there's one from a 1978 Cosworth DFV engine, a 2004 Cosworth V10 from the Jordan EJ14, and a 2006 Renault RS26. There are even some road car manifolds in the mix, with Maserati MC12 and Bugatti EB-110 manifold speaker systems available.

Tempted? Unfortunately, these things don't come cheap. Prices start at €5000 (£4100) for the eight speaker models, going up to €8000 (£6500) for the most expensive 12-speaker version. Worth it? Hell yeah!
