To celebrate 20 years passing since the mighty 850 T5-R wagon was unleashed onto the world, Volvo Polestar has brought the car together with its modern equivalent for an amazing photoshoot
Even though the V60 Polestar easily trumps its grandpa in the power stakes - 345bhp from a turbocharged straight-six - the old 850 T5-R (or 855, to give the machine’s internal designation) is still very rapid, even today. Its five-pot engine is good for 237bhp, enough to haul this gloriously boxy Swede from 0-62mph in seven seconds dead.
