Thought The Audi R8 E-Tron Was Dead? Think Again
Advances in battery technology mean a production version of the all-electric R8 is coming
There have been various concepts and prototype versions of Audi's all-electric R8 e-Tron supercar, but a production version has so far been absent. Audi previously said that it would be too expensive to build, but the German manufacturer has now confirmed that it will become a production reality.
Great advances in battery technology have been key, which have allowed the car's range to jump from 134 miles to 279 miles courtesy of smaller, more efficient units. Like the next-generation petrol R8, it'll share its platform with the Lamborghini Huracan.
We'll bring you additional details as soon as they're available.
