On paper a Bentley SUV should sell by the bucket load. In reality, however, this minging Benters manged only to damage the Brit-firm's predicted sales volumes. Great job, guys!

9. Aston Lagonda Shooting Brake

Just mentioning the name Aston Martin can make some car fans drool. We're betting the thought of a '90s Volvo estate flattened by a piano doesn't get the same reaction. Thank goodness Aston got its successor, the Rapide, spot on!

8. Ford EcoSport

Ford launched not one, not two but four new cars at the 'Go Further' event in Amsterdam. If you thought the facelifted Fiesta with the Aston-like grille was bad, it's got nothing on this EcoSport model. A Fiesta based small SUV challenging cars like the forthcoming Vauxhall Mokka and the Nissan Juke needs to half decent on the eye, no?

7. Pontiac Aztek

If you live in America, you've probably come across one of these. Wasn't just the looks that let this car down, however; the big 3.4-litre V6 only managed to pump out 178bhp. On the plus side, though, it is cool; Walter White (from Breaking Bad) drives one!

6. Ligier JS4

This isn't a car! It's more like a golf cart with doors or one of those things you see pulling trailers of luggage around an airport. What makes this one interesting is that it has a 'Renault Sport' sticker on the front. Can you get one of these with the cup chassis?

Would you like to know who is responsible for this gloomy family car? Pininfarina! We kid you not, we're talking about the designer of Maserati Gran Turismo. What he was sniffing when he came up with this is unknown.

Speaking of well known car designers cocking up, here's Zagato's one from the '70s. It's an electric two-seater with a range of 50 miles that sits on wheels from the classic Little Tikes car. It was only in production for two years. Thankfully.

Ugly cars are bad enough, but massive ugly cars are really hard to get away from. This mahoosive MPV was one of the cheapest ways of getting 7 roomy seats. It was also one of the worst tools for transporting 7 people. Note the word 'was'.

That's not a big lump of snow on this Prius, that's a home from home. But we wouldn't even want to look at one of these, let alone sleep in it! Instead, we'd take a Pontic Aztec and pay for a hotel.

And the car we think is most likely to make you shout 'GOD DAMN, THAT'S FUGLY!' is the AMC Pacer, especially this one with wood trim on the outside! Why do some American cars have that!? It also has one door longer than the other and has featured on Pimp My Ride and the video for 'Happiness' by Alexis Jordan.
