On Monday we brought you the five hottest fantasy engine swaps cars are crying out for. You backed us up with some cracking suggestions in the comments. Now bask in the glory of the fine guys and girls who whipped out their spanners and created these engine-swap masterpieces.

Toyota GT86 + IS-F V8

Box of tissues at the ready, Adnan. CT's Editor-in-Chief is a huge Toyota GT86 fan and reckons the Lexus IS-F super-saloon is the best-sounding family missile on sale. So imagine the Toyota's rear-drive genius and the Lexus 5.0-litre V8 getting it on. These Japanese drift freaks did. And of course, there's a drifty video to prove the point. Looks like they buffed out the wheelarches and widened the tracks too. WANT!

Lotus Elise + VTEC

Lotus's current flagship is the oh-my-days-this-steering-is-good Evora. But the lightweight Elise is what's supported England's finest chassis gurus for the past 15 years. The thorn in its side was always the Rover K-series motor, known for chewing through head gaskets like Tulisa gobbles down...erm, yeah.

The later Toyota engines are bulletproof but a bit characterless, and you can do better for high-revving Japanese thrills. The 2.0-litre VTEC conversion is a popular choice, and with 197bhp at 9000rpm on tap, it's no wonder.

DeLorean + Buick bi-turbo V6

Okay, so the modded DeLorean in this Tuned video wasn't fully healthy, but get it sorted and that's a 575bhp version of iconic Irish gullwing film star ready for the taking. Audi RS6 Avant power in a DMC-12? That really might just be capable of time travel...

Porsche 911 + V8

Bit contro, this one. Ripping the flat-six heart out of the back of a 911 is as sacrilegious to some of you as any of these 10 modified monstrosities. But open your mind. What would more power and even more weight off the back of a 911 do to the on-the-limit handling? Sorts. Men. From. Boys.

Ford Ka + Cosworth + RWD

This mental Ka wins the engine-swap battle for me. Why? Not just because I've got a soft-spot for Ford's teapot-on-wheels, but because it's the only car here that wasn't a sporty ride to start out with.

Now check out the mouth watering spec: SportKa body, turbocharged 2.0-litre, 300bhp Cosworth engine and rear-wheel drive. Phat alloys, a Fiesta interior with deep-dish steering wheel and hydraulic handbrake makes this fantasy Frankenstein one of the best.
