Top Gear Helicopter Crashes Racing Corvette ZR1

Top Gear is known just as much for its improbable races as its irritating humour. And with Veyron versus Typhoon, Mustang versus train and Aston versus jet-powered man, it was only ever going to end in tears. Here's what happened when Top Gear Korea (really) raced a 638bhp Corvette ZR1 against an Apache helicopter gunship...

Luckily it's being reported that everyone got out okay, which means you can watch the mesmerizingly scary clip over and over guilt-free. Kudos to the presenter for ditching the 'Vette and running to help, and well played to the observers who managed to jump out of the way of speeding debris.

Reports suggest the pilot was highly experienced, and did a magnificent job trying to land the stricken Apache right-way up after a servo control unit failed, unbalancing the multi-millon dollar war machine. Tekkers.
