Getting fifth when you want third is hardly the car’s fault. Seems to me like a driver’s matter.

The old top gear’s first episode was awful as well. It takes time before it can be as seamless as the old one. Have to say though, more Chris Harris and less Chris Evans would be a move in the right direction.

I know, we have to give it a couple of series to let it find it’s groove, but I sincerely hope Evans leaves before series 24.

Things wrog with the new top gear 1] Chris Evans cant present a programme without shouting. 2] The first car item’s humour point, the missile lock on, has been done before (and was much better), 3] Chris Evans had to encourage the crowd to cheer like a wedding DJ, 4] Chris Evans doesn’t know the top gear track and incorrectly attributed the ‘follow through’ to the corner previous. 5] Chris Evans waited approximately 4 minutes before doing the trademark Jermemy Clarkson ‘scream’ whilst driving fast. 5] The challenge segments of the show didn’t make any sense, starting with a ‘race’ in Reliant 3 wheeler cars, which have featured previously, but in fact wasn’t a race but a rather dull peice about a motorway trip involving a break down and some comedy clothing. Then a luke warm attempt at injecting some humour into a USA v British segment which lacked any excitement or drama. 6] Star in car has been ‘upgraded’ to feature a rally section which did little to make it entertaining, in fact the new format was duller than the previous, which was pretty dull in the first place. In conclusion, the show with so much potential was a piss poor pastiche on the original, or at least last known, format. Chris Evans isn’t capable of reaching the audience that have enjoyed TG over the years and Matt Le Blanc just looks bored and bemused and that’s his contribution. Will not be watching again.

No, the Follow Through is the one between hammerhead and tire walls. The corner with the tire walls is called Bentley. I agree though, this format is quite hopeless. I kept seeing a lot of things that, although they’d been done (albeit slightly differently) before, could still be quite funny if Chris Evans wasn’t involved. He’s unbearable.

I remember the F1 coverage, that’s why I don’t like him. He had the weirdest views of any given situation. I rarely agreed with him. And to me he wasn’t all that funny. I just don’t think he’s the right man for the job.

I would give Sabine a second chance though. She seems happy to be there, and is a stellar driver.

But… He’s Irish and always so happy… How can you not love a happy Irishman?

He is hard to take seriously though

Bit late (I have to wait for it to be pirated).

I actually enjoyed it… not all the time though. The cinematic was absolutely gorgeous. Well done to the camera and editing team. Matt seamed a bit wooden for a guy that was on “Friends” but he was okay. Chris on the other hand… He felt like the substitute teacher for your favourite class that wants to be liked but nobody likes.

Short: It felt like one of those Victoria’s secret models with personality of a potato.

See the last segment, with the jeep/Land Rover towing the robins off road… Was this not pretty much exactly the same as the old top gear towing the caravans off road in 4wd’s?? At least do some new stuff for a new show…
