As one of the few people who likes Chris Evans, even I can’t avoid the opinion that he was awful on TG. He seems to have two personalities - the loud and lairy TFI one and the BBC R2 one where he speaks in a normal voice. He used the wrong one last night. Le Blanc was great on the Nomad piece but looked really uncomfortable and wooden in the studio.

I just don’t understand the thinking behind following the exact same format. I don’t get the thinking behind ‘extra gear’ too. Even as a car-bore Im just not interested enough to dig it out on iplayer and watch it, no matter how good it apparently is.

Oh God please no, its like American Top Gear were everything feels scripted and really cringe. What have they done. The whole reason the original was funny was because they were all mates and had some great banter while feeling real and unscripted. Like Matt isn’t really that bad but Chris should stfu.

Erm…well, the Clarkson fanboys were right in saying that Top Gear isn’t the same without him, but honestly the show could’ve been a lot worse.

watchable but not enjoyable. sooo weird to watch a top gear and not hear the “right” voices.

Is it me or is Chris Evans shouting all the time?

Evans was trying to much to be like Clarkson I felt, Matt was good though!
Will give it a chance but didn’t enjoy it to much

Chris Evans, Just no…. Please sack him. The things that Matt thit was les bad than expected and Sabine is just a good driver.
My Opinion Sack Chriss and it’ll be alright i guess.
It’s never getting as good as it was, just give it a new twist.

Clarkson an co had real chemistry and seemed to love what they did,
Chris Evans just seems to be at work doing the minimum he need to get paid and go home.

Replace Evens with Harris and things will be a lot better.

Is it me or the edit of the show doesn’t allow breaks between voices? Like question / answers you expect a little silence and then the other talks but they cut it all the time in the edit. There is no break…
