Top Gear Returns To Our Screens On 8 May, But Do You Care?
Speaking with chef James Martin on BBC’s Saturday Kitchen, Chris Evans this weekend revealed that the first episode of the next Top Gear series will start on “Sunday May the 5th.” Calendar enthusiasts will know the 5th is actually a Thursday in 2016, so presumably that means it’ll actually start on the 8th.
He also mentioned that filming has started, and that the crew will be filming in the US in January. He said nothing about his potential co-stars - a subject of rampant speculation - but Evans has recently hinted that he may not have co-presenters at all.
The big question is, do you actually care? From what we’ve seen, amongst CTzens, interest in this revamped Top Gear is incredibly low, mostly due to the absence of Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May. And as most of you should know by now, following Clarkson’s contract ending after a fracas with a Top Gear producer, the trio is off to Amazon Prime to front a show which we’re sure most of you will be watching.

I’m honestly really excited to see what they do with it. Especially since they’ll have the original trio off doing basically the same thing, the BBC will have to make some pretty drastic changes to stay competitive. Hoping we end up with 2 unique car shows to watch!
I pretty much care about new top gear in the same way that I care about fifth gear; If old top gear isn’t on and the rallycross also isn’t on, this will do.
It’s not that it’s not the old trio not doing it that makes me not want to watch it, it’s not that I don’t think it could be great if it’s reworked properly, it’s that this just seems like the BBC further stroking the already massively overinflated ego of a man who claimed he wanted no part of the programme, then suddenly changed his mind for a reason which all seemed a bit vague and pathetic, and somehow has already made millions being even more annoyingly childish than Clarkson et al! But worst of all I think the fact that he wanted to turn the whole thing into a live theme park really suggests he thinks he’s bigger than he is and that this will not be a show that will stand out, it just sounds like he wants to make TFI Friday while sitting in a white Ferrari and getting his kids to interview The Stig. If anyone else had been given the gig maybe I could have watched it. But everything I hear about the new show just indicates that it’s going to be more about ego stroking than tyre shredding.

After what I’ve heard from him working with the crew and his childish behavior, nope.
I won’t say I don’t care. I’ll definitely give it a try before deciding whether its worth to watch or not.
Am I the only one who doesn’t hate a show called “Topgear” if it doesn’t have Clarkson, Hammond, and May?

I’ll watch it to check it out, but I just can’t stand that guy! All he does is go on about how his life is amazing etc call me jealous but it just gets annoying… ( anyone who has listened to him on his breakfast show on radio 2 will understand!)
