Top Gear's Reasonably Priced Car Sold For A Very Unreasonable Price
The eBay auction for Top Gear's final 'reasonably priced car' ended a few days ago at a price that nobody would pay had this been a 'normal' Vauxhall Astra...
If you look in the UK classifieds right now, you’ll find a low-mileage, 2013 Vauxhall Astra 1.6-litre petrol for around £7500. It will be boring and it will be ugly.
Nevertheless, Top Gear’s heavily-abused, non-airbagged Astra with a roll cage sold recently on eBay for £17,800 after 67 fanboy bidders battled it out.
The new owner can rest assured that his or her new purchase is one of the world’s most watched vehicles, having been driven on the show by big names like Aaron Paul, Hugh Jackman, Will Smith, Kiefer Sutherland and Ed Sheeran.
As for me, I’d have kept the money and spent it on something that wouldn’t bore me to death. Like 15 MX-5s or one E92 M3, for example…

Tbh, the only TG reasonable price car to buy is the original one: the Liana….. But, only if it has a reasonable price….
Plot twist: they will auction the custom auto version
What’s next, somebody pays ridiculous money for a destroyed red Hilux?
I would take part i toyota auction
The hillux is kinda fine but what will grind my gears is if they auctioned the riced multipla
I’d buy that to be honest
I’m sure someone would actually pay ridiculous money for it.
Or that Jag V12 train thing?
Or: Give it all to you to spend on car parts.
Some say he left a little surprise in the glove box, and that he ignored the engine management light…
Or a miata with 300 miles on the clock
Still , could be worse …
Auctioned items from old top gear will make more revenue than views from evans top gear.
You know it’s Alex post when MX-5 is brought up.
“And now to put an ordinary guy in our overly priced car”
Reverse that and it sounds like i don’t even know
Expensive guy in an ordinary car
Craigslist be like: Red Vauxhall Astra, low milage, never been abused.
‘driven by an old lady’
