A Town In The Netherlands Has The Geekiest Traffic Lights You'll Ever See
You won't often see us getting excited by traffic lights, but the sensor-based technology used for signals in 's-Hertogenbosch (nope, that's not a typo) is genuinely impressive, and can reduce waiting times for cars, bikes and pedestrians alike

Britain could learn a thing or two about cycle roads from the dutch that way would keep those lyrca suited grown men out of the middle of the bladdy roads plus i think those fish net type thingy bins are cool so you can throw your rubbish in without stopping i like to think the dutch guy was having a smoke when they came up with that idea
It’s David Attenborough’s far less exciting cousin!
These are all around the Netherlands, so not only in ‘s Hertogenbosch (which we just call Den Bosch)
I live very closely tho that, but I am always waiting for minutes when there is no other traffic
thats in most of the citys in the netherlands lol. not only ‘s-Hertogenbosch got them :D
I live in the Netherlands too and this technology is older than the internet.
Meanwhile in New York:
There’s no point in implementing these in the UK because cyclists can’t be f*cked to stop at the lights.
We need a system like this for BMW’s turn signals.
We have the sensor based ones here in Canada been using them for years for cars only though.
