Toyota GT86 Convertible Previewed

Toyota has released this single teaser image of the Toyota GT86 Open concept, a car which is set to take next month's Geneva motor show by storm.

Seen here in sketch form, Toyota says the GT86 Open concept will 'gauge public reaction to the idea'. In the meantime, however, an existing prototype version of the drop-top is being tested.

With the green light for a GT86 convertible as certain as a rainy British summer, the drop-top's introduction into the market looks likely for summer 2014.

This is what we've got to look forward to:

The car will use the same engine and gearbox configurations as its tin-top brother - 197bhp, 2.0-litre boxer mated to either a six speed manual or auto 'box - and will likely feature a cloth folding roof to keep an incurred weight penalty down to a minimum. Roll on 2014.
