Toyota Supra 2JZ Manual Sells For $201k (Updated)
There seems to be no limit to what people will pay for certain ‘90s Japanese performance cars. A Mitsubishi Evo XI TME on the company’s UK heritage fleet sold for six figures recently, and a Subaru Impreza 22B reached £171,000 in the last few months.
Well, now a near-pristine, low-mileage Toyota Supra A80 has proved that it’ll be a long time before clean Japanese icons are attainable. It sold for $201,000 (just under £145,000), much higher than the $136,000 asking price. But then it has a lot in its favour - including a manual gearbox and fewer than 7,000 miles on the odometer.
It features the sought after twin-turbo 3.0-litre 2JZ-GTE engine, and has a six-speed manual gearbox. In other words, absolute Supra perfection, and the combination that all potential Supra buyers really want. Adding further fuel to the fire is that it looks absolutely stock.
It’s a one-owner car with full service history, a present owner’s manual and a clean report from Carfax, so it’s clear this car has been cherished.
The Renaissance Red paint looks as good as when it left the factory in 1995, as does the ivory leather upholstery - although neither is really surprising given the super-low mileage. It features the classic Supra wing and alloys, plus climate control, all-round disc brakes and a radio with both CD and cassette players.
If you’ve got five minutes we’d urge you to take a look through the extensive photo gallery, to check out one of the best-kept Toyota Supras we’ve ever seen. It’s all our Gran Turismo dreams rolled into one.
It’s unlikely a Supra in this condition will come to market again any time soon, if ever, and clearly the high price reflects that. However, the selling price is some way off the $550,000 achieved by a Supra that was used in the Fast & Furious franchise, and that even had an automatic gearbox.
Do you think this Supra is worth that much? Let us know in the comments.

Not under 170k I believe, and the worst is that I’m not even remotely surprised anymore. The market for that car is worst than for aircooled 911s a few years back.
I mean, I fell on an old ads magazine for cars a few weeks ago, the thing’s ten years old (bought it in 2011), and while looking into it I fell on that. TT Supra for 16k CAD (although the Canadian dollar was worth as much as the US dollar in late 2011). Ten years later and their values went up 500%.
Considering it even has the original Gold Pack… I’d say half a million.
Three words…. no it isn’t
