This Track-Prepared Ferrari 308 GTS QV Is The Definition Of Lust

Lowered on fully-adjustable Ohlins suspension and blessed with a full track-day conversion, this roll-caged 308 is impossibly pretty, and we need it in our lives immediately

As road-legal track-day cars go, this isn’t bad. At the cost of its originality this stunning Ferrari 308 GTS QV has been converted to racing spec, and boy do we want a go.

Those 18-inch split wheels! The stance! The luscious curve of the front wing and shoulder line! Those cooling intakes! The exhausts! We’re having all sorts of trouser crises at CT Towers. Much as we love modern Ferraris, this 1984 car is spectacularly pretty.

The track conversion is a proper job, too, not just some fat wheels and coilovers. The suspension is adjustable Ohlins fare with race bushes, AP Racing and Alcon brakes, a red roll cage, red Cobra Racing bucket seats and harnesses, and of course a fire extinguisher.

Amidships the transverse 2.9-litre V8 engine has had a full overhaul and rebuild to racing spec. Throttle bodies and dry-sump lubrication help it on the way to an estimated 380bhp. Pity there’s no dyno proof of that, and the seller, Autologix of Nottinghamshire, says the car will need setting up and/or tuning to the buyer’s spec. That suggests to us that it’s not quite running how it should be.

Apparently it was written off in the least serious category (D, at the time) in 2008, but wasn’t seriously damaged. The cost of even relatively minor spares for classic Ferraris can be enough for insurers to wield the axe.

The price for all this Italian wonderment is what seems like a bargain £49,950. It’s so good looking that you’ll want to wake up next to it every morning, and it must be one hell of an experience on track.

If you have £50,000 to spend and you want a unique, intense track day car with a gated manual gearbox, then why are you still reading this? Go and buy it. Then send us videos.

Hell, it makes this wrecked 512 look ridiculously expensive.

50K for a car like this? Quite the deal!

Although, to people who don’t know anything about cars, they must think paying 50K for some used 80’s Italian sports car is a rip off.
