Ultimate Speed Comparison: F1 Car Vs Road Car Vs V8 Supercar

It’s difficult to appreciate just how extreme something is, without being able to judge that thing alongside something truly average. Usain Bolt looked pretty quick in last year’s Olympic 100m final, for example, but he’d have looked even quicker if I had been attempting to sprint along next to him.

The same is true of Formula One. Laps conducted under the watchful eye of the Safety Car look slow and tedious, but in reality Safety Car driver Bernd Maylander is driving almost as quickly as he can. And don’t forget, the Safety Car of the moment is a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, so that’s very quickly indeed.
