Ultra-Rare BMW M3 And M4 Special Editions Announced... For Japan
BMW has reportedly announced a pair of special editions based on the M3 and M4, and they’re going to be super-rare.
The M3 and M4 M Heat editions will share the same set of upgrades. They’ll also share the slightly unfortunate combination of being limited to just 15 units each, and being sold only in Japan. Damn.
Both will be blessed with the Competition Package and a heap of carbonfibre M Division goodies spanning the front splitter, rear diffuser and mirror covers. The interior is a smorgasbord of Alcantara, because sporty, while the outside is yours in a striking – and unique – shade called Tanzanite Blue.
Naturally, there are plenty of badges describing the model’s limited-run status, and 20-inch alloy wheels are standard fare. These BMWs put us in mind of another Japan-only special edition we remember from the recent past; the gob-smacking Ferrari J50.
Thanks to Japan’s mighty import tax on foreign, large-engined cars, the money conversation starts at the equivalent of £89,680 for the M3 M Heat Edition and £91,260 for the M4 version. In the UK a Competition Package-equipped M3 with a manual gearbox starts at £61,580.
It’s a bit of a shame that we won’t see them in the UK, but at least these Japanese models will be right-hand drive, opening the door to a cheeky ‘grey import’ a few years down the line…

So, that creates a leeway for anyone to get the M3 normal edition and still have unlimited amounts of fun

Same for everyone in Europe
Well, 25 years from now we will be importing some of these if there are any available
90k? That’s cute. Used 2016 M4 Competitions with under 10k kms go for 185k in turkey.
Oh thats cute, the same bmw goes fir 300k in Brazil
that’s cute. 2nd hand m4 in indonesia cost equivalent with 93k pound
Long story short, it’s only limited for the sake of being limited. Literally the only special things about it are a badge in the interior and a more or less interesting colour.
Tanzanite Blue is available for other countries so its not an exclusive colour for Japan.
It does at least look pretty fine with those carbon frills, mind…
Yep… Just a bloody investment of some sorts… FFS BMW
Maybe because they wont say “meh, rather have a 3rd hand GTR” (Maybe a new one for that price!) OR “rather tune a insert chassis code of an over rated car…”
Wait…we are talking about the Japanese market, right? please ignore my comment.

Just like he Subaru BRZ sti
Soooo, the only difference from a normal Comp Pack M3/4 is some carbon fibre bits and badges. But it costs around 150% of the normal car.
Shows the power of the “limited edition”
Carguyken918 hope you’ll spot one of these in the near future
