The Unpronounceable 'Arrinera Hussarya' Is A Realistic New Supercar We Hope Won't Flop
Yesterday, the Trion Nemesis was the latest in a long line of ridiculously ambitious start-up supercar companies. And surprise surprise, it's been joined by yet another new supercar this week, the Polish-built Arrinera Hussarya. And yes, it's LS V8-powered.
The thinking behind this one is a little less far-fetched though: there are no 2000hp claims here. Instead, Arrinera is offering a far more realistic 641bhp and 605lb/ft of torque from the mid-mounted 6.2-litre V8. That'll make the Hussarya good for 0-62mph in 3.2 seconds, and a top speed of 211mph.
The rather brisk figures are helped by the reasonably low 1300kg weight figure. The body is made from carbonfibre and kevlar, while we're told the chassis is steel; presumably of a space-frame construction.
Noble founder Lee Noble has helped with the development, too, so it might actually be quite decent in the handling and drivability stakes, assuming this venture doesn't end in the usual failure we've come to expect from supercar start-ups. Arrinera says it plans to kick- start production in the coming months, with prices of $160,000 (£96,188) expected.
