Update: An Aston Martin GT3 Car Slammed Into A Recovery Truck At Detroit's Tudor Race

A safety truck was recovering a car after the chequered flag had fallen at Saturday's Tudor United Sports Car race in Detroit, when James Davison's Aston Martin slid off track in the wet and collided with it

The wet conditions were treacherous as Saturday’s Tudor United SportsCar Championship race in Detroit came to an end, with the No. 31 Action Express Racing Corvette DP of Dane Cameron and Eric Curran winning.

A safety vehicle was on track at Turn 1 recovering the No. 58 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT America car after the chequered flag had fallen. James Davison’s No. 007 TRG-AMR Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3 aquaplaned off the circuit, hitting the truck. Several others also went off at the same point on the circuit moments later, but all drivers involved were okay.

According to IMSA, one track safety worker was evaluated and released from the medical centre. Another was taken to a nearby hospital and remained there overnight for further evaluation.

Update:
The safety worker who stayed in hospital overnight is in a stable condition but suffered a number of broken ribs, collapsed lung and a non-operative injury to his spleen and kidney, IMSA has confirmed.
