John Hooper, the owner of the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 that was wrecked while in the possession of a dealer, has finally had his issue resolved. A 2013 ZL1 is being delivered to him, with Hooper paying the same monthly payments he'd been paying on his 2012 model.

If you've missed this story, here's a quick roundup. John Hooper delivered his ZL1 to First State Chevrolet to get a little paintwork problem fixed up. While it was there, an employee took it without permission, and wrapped it round a telegraph pole. Hooper argued he deserved a similarly low mileage example in return, however First State denied responsibility for its employee's actions, resulting in an impasse.

Since the story was picked up, First State has felt the wrath of the internet. Its Facebook page was filled with hate, and they received abusive phone calls to the dealership.

Everything has worked out well for the Hoopers, as another dealer - Berger Chevrolet in Grand Rapids, Michigan - has offered a 2013 ZL1 in Victory Red after former GM executives called to help resolve the issue.

Hooper has expressed his regret that this turned so ugly, however First State hardly handled the incident professionally. We're glad he got what he wanted in the end.
