UPDATE: A Potential Fire Risk Might Have Led To Every Single LaFerrari Being Recalled

Every single LaFerrari has will have its fuel tank upgraded via a "service campaign"

Update: Ferrari has since clarified that while the fuel tanks on all LaFerrari models will be upgraded, this will be done via a “service campaign”. The company says that this is not being treated as a recall, and that there is no risk of fire. The work will take eight hours to complete for each car and can be completed as part of the standard service schedule.

According to Autoblog.nl, every single LaFerrari will have its fuel tanks replaced with new parts that feature an “electrical non-conducting coating/surface”. The news initially sparked rumours of a fire risk. However unlike the 458 - which was recalled due to an adhesive in the wheel arch assemblies that had a tendency to overheat - we haven’t seen any LaFerraris burn to the ground, but nevertheless the nature of this work had led to speculation that a fire risk was the reason behind it.

Ferrari itself denied that this is a recall, but had referred to “adjustments” which are being carried out to the fuel tanks during regular maintenance.
