This Violent Daytona 500 Crash Proves How Quickly A Small Bump Can Become A Big Crash

A big crash at last weekend's Daytona 500 took out several drivers, including former Indycar driver Danica Patrick and polesitter Austin Dillon

After record-breaking delays due to rain, Dale Earnhardt Jr took the chequered flag at the NASCAR Sprint Cup opener at Daytona. Others didn't have quite such an enjoyable race, however, as several drivers got caught up in a dramatic crash.

Contact between Kevin Harvick and Brian Scott snowballed, taking out several other drivers, including Austin Dillon, who had started the race on pole. Former Indycar racer Danica Patrick looked to have come off the worst, as her Stewart-Haas Racing car veered back across the track and violently collided with a concrete barrier.
