Volvo's Concept XC Coupe Is The Sexiest SUV You Can't Buy
Remember the sexy Concept Coupe Volvo unveiled last year? Meet its big brother, the Concept XC Coupe. It's the second of three Volvo concepts that demonstrate the Swedish company's new design structure.
It's pretty easy to tell that these two concepts are from the same family tree, especially from the front three quarter view: take away the chunkier, less ventilated front bumper and high riding position, and you could be looking at the coupe.
The coupe was a looker, so that's no bad thing. Like the Concept Coupe, there's a smoothly sculpted two-door body, a prominent front grille, sharp T-shaped LED headlights and a pair of smart exhausts integrated into the rear bumper.
Inside there are four seats, the rear pair of which are especially dinky. This gives a capacious boot for all the extreme sports equipment Volvo seems convinced buyers of this sort of SUV will own.
If this is where future Volvo design is going, we can't wait to see the long-awaited new XC90 that will be the first production car to sport these stylish touches. The concept will make its official debut on January 13th at the Detroit Auto Show.
