Watch An 18-Month Porsche 911 Restoration Play Out Over 4 Minutes
Project cars can be painful, painful things. Taking on an extensive restoration isn’t for the faint of heart, but if it’s not for you, perhaps this will give you an idea of how much work can be needed for a big rebuild job.
It’s the work of Jeff, an Australian man who’s almost irritatingly talented. As his 18-month, 1973 Porsche 911 RSR project plays out in this four or so minute video, we see him rebuild the engine, refresh and repaint the bodyshell, fabricate a roll cage, and even build and trim interior panels from scratch. Is there anything this guy can’t do?
The car isn’t finished yet, as the rebuilt engine still needs to be installed. We heartily recommend you head over to his YouTube channel - Home Built by Jeff - to keep an eye out for the conclusion, and to take a closer look at what’s been done to the car up to this point.

Only 4 minutes?
Flash.. is that you?
18 months? I thought it would be a little longer, I would think this build was lightning fast!
well, the official porsche, usually gives a 4month waiting period until the restoration is completed, and they have a whole team of people working around the clock on your scrap until it becomes a car again, it is quite impressive this dude knew how to do everything on his own
You can find so many crashed or left to die porsche cars where i live… problem is for a regular porsche engine you have to pay 2k for insurance and almost 4k tax per year, that is actually life ruining since the average yearly income is somewhere between 7k to 10k…
You wanna make your own car so bad and your own country wont allow you..
Where are you from?
He’s the type of guy to complain Forza doesn’t have enough customization, and now he has backed that claim up.
