Watch This 7.0-Litre V8 Camaro Z28 Whip Around The 'Ring Faster Than An LFA
Chevrolet has released a gloriously snarly video of its new 7.0-litre LS7 V8 Camaro Z28 being whipped around Germany's 'Green Hell' quicker than a standard Lexus LFA.
The 7min 37sec time came courtesy of the naturally-aspirated Z28's monstrous 505hp power figure and hefty 470lb ft torque.
Designed to be the fastest road-racing Camaro ever, the Z28's ethos of 'less weight, more aero' means the car is over 130kg lighter than the ZL1 model, thanks to weight saving measures such as thinner glass and a lighter battery. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a close-ratio six-speed manual gearbox.
The Z28 also gets a tasty rear wing, lightweight alloys, carbon ceramic brakes and complicated front and rear diffusers which reduce lift. Here's what that combination of parts looks and sounds like in flat-out action.
