Watch And Hear The New Toyota Supra In Action For The First Time
Just a couple of weeks after being snapped by spy photographers, the all-new Toyota Supra has been spotted again - and this time it was caught on video.
It certainly sounds like it’s packing six-cylinder power, potentially a straight-six. Listen carefully, and you’ll also hear a faint whine which might belong to an electric motor, adding credence to all those rumours that the new Supra will be a hybrid. Power wise, we can expect the package to put out around 400bhp.
As a reminder, Toyota is developing this brand new sports car with BMW - hence why the mule was spotted leaving and entering the BMW M Test Center at the Nurburgring. BMW’s end of the deal will be a soft top likely to be christened ‘Z5’, while Toyota’s version will be a tin top.
Although the revival of the name ‘Supra’ hasn’t been confirmed for the car, it’s deemed highly likely judging by comments from Toyota’s top brass and the decision to trademark ‘Toyota Supra’ in Europe earlier this year. The car should look something like Toyota’s FT-1 concept (above).

I need it!
TBH, I am a little disappointed on the design though.
Wow
sounds like electric sort of cross with crappy sounding M4
Why did it pull into a BMW place?
It’s being sold as a BMW as well
BMW Tests at Nurburgring track as well .
BMW and Toyota have somewhat partnered up, it was mentioned in a previous car throttle thread and basically due to this the new Toyota and BMW performance cars are gonna be possible now.
Cause it’s developed with BMW
Right now it looks ugly as f**k!
Waiting for the JDM/EDM fanboys to start dukin’ it out.
I will be making free popcorn for all.
[DELETED]
You’ll make the popcorn, I’ll keep the score (for valid arguments)! Can I have some, please?
No need to bring the salt for it though—the JDM vs EDM fight will give us plenty of it haha
I see now that I kind of copied your comment. Awkwarddd…
I like EDM!!!! as in music :)
Are you sure that this is the new Supra? Looks and sounds much more like a BMW to me…
Seems like their teaming like they did with Subaru
Since it’s a joint venture, who knows whats designing what
Now let’s sit and wait for the first person to replace those turbo’s by 2 football-sized ones :)
Why this BMW sounds like Hair drier?
