Watch An Angry Moto3 Racer Deliberately Crash Into Another Rider

During practice for the Argentine Grand Prix, Aron Canet got so frustrated with a fellow Moto3 rider that he purposefully crashed into them

The practice sessions in any form of motorsport are important. However, since the final results don’t count for anything it’s not the end of the world if, say, you get held up by someone while you’re on a hot lap.

Moto3 rider Aron Canet thought otherwise though. When he was baulked by Makar Yurchenko, he decided that the best course of action would be to catch him up and clearly and deliberately take him out.

The only question is what punishment would be handed down to Canet. A fine? A grid penalty? A race ban? How about none of those. Instead, stewards deemed the act a ‘racing incident’ (despite the opinion of pretty much everyone else) and Canet got to carry on for the rest of the weekend as normal like nothing had happened.

Isn’t deliberately crashing into somebody when you’re both on motorcycles just kind of playing yourself?

He had reason to be angry, but I don’t fully think that warranted suiciding into him. Then again, most people don’t think clearly when angry or frustrated. Perhaps loosening him up and passing would’ve been a better option?

I swear, if the rider had another ‘A’ in his name, he would’ve put people called Aaron to shame. Thank God he doesn’t.

Extreme manoeuvre. But why on a motorcycle?
Both fell and what did Canet gain from it?

As rammers in racing games have taught me, logic isn’t really their strong suit.

Senna did it and people worship him
This guy does it and people condemn him

I think you need a bit more context than just that to make a statement about Senna

Ehhh, he got penalized in the end. Same with Prost when he did it to Senna a year later (correct me if I’m wrong), along with Vettle when he did it to Hamilton just last year. The states are arguably higher in moto3.
