Watch A BMW i8 Tackle Hockenheim In Anger
German publication Sport Auto put the i8 to work on Hockenheim's short circuit, where it clocked a similar time to a Porsche Boxster S and Jaguar F-Type V6 S
The final time clocked by the i8 during this test by Sport Auto was 1min 15sec. For comparison, here’s a list of laptimes for Hockenheim’s short circuit. Judging by the frequent and rather painful squeals you can hear, we’re guessing the car was still running the standard-fit low rolling resistance tyres, so it’d be interesting to see what the i8 could manage with some grippier rubber.
