Watch This F1 Car's Trashed Rear Wing Cling On For Dear Life
Let’s be honest: the 2018 Monaco GP - like many races at the principality’s tight street circuit - wasn’t exactly a thriller. The pointy end of the grid remained unchanged from qualifying, with Daniel Ricciardo overcoming mechanical problems to take his first ever win at Monte Carlo, ahead of Sebastian Vettel and championship leader Lewis Hamilton.
But there was a little dash of late drama further down the order. Thanks to an apparent brake problem, Sauber’s Charles Leclerc slammed into the Toro Rosso of Brendon Hartley on the approach to the chicane.
What’s arguably more interesting than the collision itself is what happened after: while Leclerc went straight down the escape road and retired on the spot, Hartley was able to drag his decimated car back to the pits. He was forced to retire too, but given the severity of the accident, the fact he was able to continue at all is impressive.
And just look at that rear wing desperately hang on! It’s both heroic and a little sad, all at the same time.

THANKS IDIOT.
No u
It wasn’t Leclerc’s fault. His brakes failed
Leclerc be like
When the Sauber’s brakes wanted to go back to the high wing era… they hit a Toro Rosso and made one.
Fck that, Danny’s masterclass was wonderful! It reminded me of Schumi’s 1995 5th gear race! Great race today!
Not knocking Danny Ric’s performance! Just pointing out that - like most Monaco GPs - it wasn’t exactly action-packed, aside from Verstappen making his way through the pack.
While his performance was impressive with gearbox and MGU-K (or was it MGU-H?) issues, I wouldn’t compare it to the fifth gear only drive of Schumacher.
While missing 2 years is a big issue, you don’t need gears 7 and 8 that much in Monaco..
Didn’t Senna also win a race, in sixth gear? Not Monaco tho
Saw that live. It was epic.
The thing is if you saw it live Leclerc’s brakes malfunctioned. You could see the spraying of brake fluid erupt and then he smashed into Hartley.
So…Zenvo apparently was inspired by the broken rear wings of a F1 car…
Dammit you beat me to it
Literally just about to post the exact same picture with a similiar caption😂😂😂
Brother…… Save Me!!!!
I found this wing’s great great great grandfather
Now where I’ve seen it before..
