Watch The GTA Spano Supercar From The Need For Speed Movie Go Up In Flames

This GTA Spano has been wrecked by fire on the A3 in Spain, close to the supercar firm’s Valencia headquarters. Only 99 were originally planned for production, so it’s an incredibly rare car to see go up in flames. If that wasn’t enough, this isn’t any ordinary Spano. According to Motorpasion.com, this is the one GTA has taken to car shows the world over, and is the very same example that appeared in the hilariously bad Need For Speed movie (below).

If you’ve had the misfortune of sitting through that film, you’ll remember that the car was destroyed in the climactic race sequence, although a replica was used for that scene. As for the real car, we’re not sure of its fate but it’s likely the fire spread to the rest of the machine after this footage was shot.

The GTA Spano is powered by a supercharged 8.4-litre Dodge Viper V10, kicking out 900bhp to the rear wheels. It’ll do 0-62mph in under three seconds, and go on to a top speed of over 217mph.
