To showcase its new engine oil (and because racecar), Castrol teamed up with a tech specialist company to create a car tag-team like no other

When you assemble a world-class team of respected racing drivers - including Augusto Farfus (BMW Motorsport works driver/DTM), Mike Rockenfeller (Audi Sport works driver/DTM) and Adrian Zaugg (Lamborghini Squadra Corse test driver) - plus Ken Block (let’s face it, he crashes a hell of a lot) - you know the resulting video will include many drifts, jumps and donuts.

But unlike any other video you’ve seen before, this tag-team event has more depth than a high-definition hoon. With a race track made entirely of lights, the drivers have to work together in their respective cars to keep up with the light beams otherwise face plunging to their deaths in darkness; well not quite, but the spectacle itself is pretty cool!

The light obstacles, which include a laser tunnel, laser drift, slalom and laser box, were created by lighting and tech company Marshmallow Laser Feast and were used as a means to help showcase Castrol’s new Edge boosted with Titanium FST engine oil. Interestingly, Castrol mixed 2400 blends of oil to achieve the exacting formula used in each of the cars to realise the greatest performance out of each engine.

Speaking of which, how much attention do you guys pay to decent engine oil?
