Watch A McLaren 570S Annihilate An Audi R8 V10 Plus Around A Track, But Lose Out In A Straight Line

The 570S may be the quicker car on a hot lap, but it can't compete with the R8's mighty V10 in a straight line

As mentioned from the guys at Cars.co.za, the stickier rubber on the McLaren would have skewed the test a little. Repeat it with similar spec boots though, and we reckon the result would be the same, but with a smaller gap.

But which car would you rather have, the R8 or the 570S?

Growing up on a diet of World Rally Championship highlights and lengthy Gran Turismo 2 sessions, a life in cars was as good as inevitable for Matt.

Woohoo Cape Town 😀 Tough choice. The Audi is probably the better daily but the McLaren is perfect for the mountain roads here.

The audi looks good until you put a great looking car beside it. Then it looks unimaginative.

I want my 20 minutes back. You cannot put two cars so similar, head to head and end the video with “well… The McLaren has better tyres so maybe that’s why it was quicker.” Then fit the same flipping tyres to both cars!! “Oh, but it is an option in the McLaren and not in the Audi” It is not a video of which one is the fastest value, is about what car / vehicle is better, by itself.
