Next year, Formula E won’t be the only major electric racing series. That’s because 2017 will see the debut of the Electric GT championship, which will feature this race-prepped Tesla Model S.

We’re looking forward to seeing some more raw footage of this car testing, but this short video does give a decent technical overview of the car. It’s the P85 single motor model - because rear-wheel drive - and is significantly faster than the standard car due to all the weight it’s shed .

The series will stop at seven European tracks including the Nurburgring, Brands Hatch, Mugello and Estoril. Each race weekend will have a 20 minute practice session, a 30 minute qualifying and a pair of 37 mile races.

Brands Hatch eh? The Indy layout is quite a small track. Some would say it’s a…short circuit.
