My favorite bit is the map stuck to the dashboard…
That’s not there to help them with the layout of the track… it’s to indicate turn numbers so they can more easily communicate back-and-forth with the pit crew about track conditions at certain parts of the track.
So someone can say “wreck at turn 4, stay inside” and the driver will know where that is on the track.
